Icelandic® was incorporated in 1947, and its main business was the importation and sale of frozen fish products from Iceland.
Icelandic® started processing seafood at its plant in Cambridge, Maryland in 1954. By September of 1997, Icelandic Seafood Corporation headquarters was re-located to Newport News, Virginia. In 2005, Icelandic® and Samband of Iceland Corporation (formerly Iceland Seafood Corporation) merged under the name Icelandic® USA, Inc.
